What is the cost of the program? The cost of the program is between $5,000 to $5,500 depending on special requests for the eight week program. Additional specialty living arrangements must be arranged and paid for in advance. Your received payment will serve as your official reservation and both the student and school will receive an e-mail confirmation of the reservation prior to the start date of the session in which they are enrolled. All participants must be paid in full 30 business days prior the start date of the session in which they are enrolled. Please note that payments received by ISI on or after 30 business days prior to the start date of the program are non-refundable.
When is payment due? All participants must be paid in full 30 business days prior to the start date of the session in which they are enrolled. ISI strongly recommends paying as far in advance of this date as possible as all internships are filled on a first come, first serve basis. Please note that payments received by ISI on or after 30 business days prior to the start date of the program are non-refundable.
What is the refund/cancellation policy? Payment: In order for the Student Intern to reserve an internship session spot, a qualified, refundable Security Deposit in the amount of One Thousand Dollars and no cents ($1,000.00) is required. This Security Deposit shall be applied toward the Basic Fee of Five Thousand Dollars and no cents ($5,000.00). In the event that written notice of a Student Intern's intent to withdraw from the selected session is received at least thirty (30) days from the start of said session, then the Security Deposit in the amount of One Thousand Dollars and no cents ($1,000.00) shall be fully refunded. Should the Student Intern, for any reason, decide to withdraw from the selected session, within thirty (30) days of the start of said session, the Security Deposit in the amount of One Thousand Dollars and no cents ($1,000.00) shall be retained by ISI. The Security Deposit may be applied to another internship session, upon acceptance of Student Intern for a new session by ISI, and the procurement of another internship at the same or a similar company, for the mutually agreed upon new session. Payment, by check or money order only, shall be made to: Intern Services International (ISI), 4702 Hayvenhurst Avenue, Encino, CA 91436. All participants must be paid in full no later than thirty (30) business days prior to the start of the session in which they are enrolled. In the event full payment of the Basic Fee, Five Thousand Dollars and no cents ($5,000.00), is not received in a timely manner, the reservation for the Student Intern shall be canceled. PLEASE NOTE: payments received by ISI on or after thirty (30) business days prior to the start of the program are NON-REFUNDABLE. No refunds or pro-rations are given if a student is late for the start of the session or leaves early. ISI reserves the right to attempt to find an internship placement up to ten (10) business days prior to the start date of your selected session. In the unlikely event that ISI cannot find a suitable internship match between the prospective Student Intern and an employer within said ten (10) business days prior to the start of the selected session, a full refund of all payments shall be made. In the alternative, upon mutual agreement, ISI may continue the search process until you are placed. If ISI simply fails to find a satisfactory internship, even given the extended time period, a full refund shall be made. Session dates are fixed. If the Student Intern has any conflicts with this time commitment, it must first be cleared by ISI as well as with your school.
Are the dates of the program flexible? Session dates are listed on our Schedule Page. If you have any conflicts with this time commitment, you must first clear it with Intern Services International as well as your school. ISI does not pro-rate your fee for late arrivals and/or early departures during a session.

Most of our participants are between the ages of 18-24, but we have had quite anumber of older students who have benefited greatly from our program. However you must be at least 18 years of age to participate in our program. We have internships in a vast array of disciplines within the entertainment industry. We do not have a GPA requirement, but it should be noted that many employers require a 3.0 or above. You will not be ruled out for your GPA alone. Work experience and extra-curricular activities are not required, but we are looking for candidates with strong, well-rounded resumes.
What is included? Your fee includes a guaranteed internship, lodging for 8 weeks, typically at our Corporate Housing Apartments: an apartment complex consisting of a two bedroom, two bath, apartment with a kitchen, complete with a dishwasher, microwave, and living room, to be shared by four students. Housing will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis. Specialty living arrangements (i.e. one bedroom, singles) can be accommodated based on both location availability and at additional cost. ISI program participants will be able to make use of the apartment complex's full, on-site amenities such as: swimming pool, jacuzzi, and sports facilities (tennis, basketball, gym, and volleyball). In addition there are dry cleaning and convenience stores, apartment complex sponsored organized events, Sunday brunch, DVD rental service, wireless internet access, and car rental, some of which may require additional fees paid directly to the apartment complex by the student. ISI will arrange regular special events exclusively for the program participants enrolled in the ISI program, including but not limited to: "welcome" and "farewell" social mixers, regularly scheduled guest speakers such as writers, directors, actors, producers, agents, managers, publicists, casting directors, production staff, studio and network executives, and other Entertainment Industry professionals. Also available will be discounted and/or complimentary tickets to television show tapings and/or local theater. Also available through ISI's network of professionals, and at a separate fee, are referrals for acting, voice, dance, and screen writing instruction. Those events, such as the guest speaker series, are designed to give our program participants direct contact with multiple professional points of view about the entertainment industry above and beyond what they might experience from their internship related duties and experiences.
How many spots are available this year?
Enrollment is limited to no more than 24 participants in any given session. Plan your own group of four (or eight!) for a guaranteed placement.
When can I apply? We have a rolling admissions process. This means that we accept applicants as the applications are received. We do not wait until everyone has applied to make our decisions. We will take applications until all spots are filled. We strongly encourage you to apply as soon as possible as all internships are filled on a first come, first serve basis.
How are the internships secured? We secure internships by selling companies on the attributes of employing an ISI intern. The employer enters into an agreement with us to hire one or more of our applicants from our pool of candidates. Our client employers then supply us with their company infomation, job description, job requirements, and number of openings. We search our database of pre-enrollment candidates for the best possible matches for the open positions. We then set up a resume screening for the employer to review the candidates we have selected, and the employer selects the candidates.
Will my internship be a paid position? The majority of ISI internship positions are non-paid.
Do I have to receive course credit to work in an unpaid internship? Many companies will require you to receive course credit to be eligible to work in an internship. This decision is usually based on each individual company's interpretation of the labor law and is an internal decision that cannot be challenged by you, your own school, or Intern Services International. Some companies are very strict on this, and will not allow you to work in an unpaid position unless you can document that you are receiving course credit from a university or college. Intern Services International does not receive compensation from your employers for your work. All non-paid positions are on a voluntary basis.
What if my university or college does not offer course credit for internships or I have already graduated? If your school does not offer course credit for internships, or you have already graduated, Intern Services International will endeavor to place you within a company that does not require interns to receive school credit subject to the aforementioned refund/cancellation policy parameters.
What hours should I expect to work? Typically, the average work hours are no more than 40 hours per week and take place between the hours of 8 am to 6 pm. The company you are interning at will set your work hours.
What is expected of me? As an ISI Intern, you may not miss work or the ISI welcome orientation for any reason other than health or family emergency. In addition, you may not leave early on a Friday to make a trip back home or miss any part of any work day for any personal reasons. You are free to come and go on weekends, but we encourage you not to miss out on our planned events and activities as they are a valuable part of your internship experience.
What is the housing like? Typically, a corporate apartment complex consisting primarily of a two bedroom, two bath, apartment with a kitchen and living room to be shared by four students. In addition, there are on-site dry cleaning and convenience stores, wireless internet access, DVD rental service, and a car rental franchise. The apartment complex sponsors organized events such as their weekly Sunday brunch. Some of the aforementioned may require additional fees paid directly to the apartment complex by the student.
If I don't bring my own car, how do I get to work each day? It is almost impossible to live in the Los Angeles area without an automobile. In making plans to come to LA, students should give serious consideration to bringing their own vehicles. Those without a car may be severely limited in their internship possibilities and may feel hampered in their ability to shop, sightsee, and otherwise get around. There is an on-site car rental franchise at the apartment complex that will rent to those under the age of 25 for a separate fee. Certainly students have car pooled or taken public transportation, but these situations are limiting since internship hours vary greatly, and it may not always be safe to take a bus through some areas of town at odd hours. If a student does not have a car, everything will be done to done to assisthim/her in finding internship that will be reasonable to get to, but it may not be the in student's primary area of interest.
Will I have Internet service in my room? Our housing complex typically offers Internet service to your room either for free or a small monthly fee. This will be coordinated at check-in.
Will I have phone service in my room? Our housing complex provides local phone service at no cost, however they do charge for long distance calls.
The majority of our participants bring their cell phones. Please note to watch out for "local long distance" charges when calling from the land line in your apartment. The LA area is spread out and you could incur toll call charges (local long distance) by calling from one local zone to another. For example, calling from your apartment to Malibu would be considered a "local long distance" call and would incur a charge.
Are there weight room facilities to work out? Yes, it is conveniently located near the building in which you will be living in complete with swimming pool, basketball courts, cardio and weight room, jacuzzi, tennis, and volleyball. You will not be disappointed!
